The Michigan Health Endowment Fund recently released an updated report on Access to Behavioral Health Care in Michigan. The report includes data from 2022 as well as examines progress on initiatives since 2016.
MC3 is highlighted in the report’s section on Policy Initiatives and Recommendations, where it is stated, “The MC3 program continues to play a vital role by providing consultation, education, and connections to community resources, thereby enhancing the capacity of Michigan’s primary care providers to address the behavioral health needs of pediatric and perinatal patients. The findings in this report show clearly that telemedicine is essential to accessing behavioral health services in Michigan. Continuing to remove barriers and increase opportunities for Michiganders to utilize telemedicine for behavioral health services will be important to address the continued gap in access to services in Michigan.”
